The Science Of Skateboarding

Our team of experts are both skateboarders and experts in their respective fields. We love to scour the internet for research and apply it to skateboarding and skaters in a way it never has been applied before. This is the next level.

The founder, Dr. Brandon Whittington, PT is an expert on movement and the human body and a skateboarder with experience spanning 26 years. He specializes in motor control training.  This journey started when he realized that motor control training has specific principles that can be applied to any task. He began implementing them in skateboarding and found himself making much bigger progress at 38 than he had in his younger years.

The problem with the how-to and tip tricks you see online and on YouTube is they do just that, they tell you how a trick works, how to move your body but that is not how we learn new tricks. If it was that simple then switch tricks would be a piece of cake, we know how it works, how it feels, how it looks and even the timing, but.. when it comes to switch tricks it still takes a ton of effort. That is because rarely is the issue  in not doing a trick in not knowing how, it is an issue of training your brain to control your body by forming new connections. The amazing thing is that you can do tricks or hacks to make this happen faster!

These hacks and tricks when utilized are scientifically proven to make faster results. We know skateboarding is hard but the fun is in landing that next big trick, progression in pushing ourselves and achieving new skills with our friends. This site was designed not only for this reason but to expand our knowledge in other areas as well. The more we understand the more we can enjoy skateboarding to the fullest.
